The idea behind the room
It may sound obvious, even a little silly as a concept. We arrived at it after recording many different podcasts.
Sometimes the big table got in the way.
It created distance between the guests and also between them and the audience. We could see it in their posture, eye contact and the pace of the conversation.
Then we thought about coffee at home.
You know when a friend sits on the sofa and everyone relaxes? That was the idea behind the armchairs.
The posture changes, and the conversation changes with it.
People relax, answers have more room and the discussion can go deeper. The room hosts podcasts, interviews and branded conversations with up to four people.

What changes when the conversation calls for proximity and a less technical topic.How many people can record in PoltronaCast?

How is it different from MesaCast?
The difference starts with the subject. When the topic is less technical and the conversation calls for a living-room feel, the armchairs bring speakers closer. MesaCast structures the conversation around a table, with camera, sound and lighting working together for several people, and it doubles as a meeting room. There is one more practical difference: PoltronaCast is the only podcast room that can also be rented as space alone, with your own equipment.
Does recording use one fixed equipment model?
When we record it, the structure is the house podcast setup: three cameras and up to four microphones, adjusted to framing and participant count, with models chosen for what the delivery needs. When you rent the space alone, the equipment is yours.
Does the room have daylight and blackout control?
It does. Daylight, blackout curtains and air conditioning keep the room stable through long recordings. The house light kit has three points: 3 Amaran 300c continuous lights or 3 Godox flashes with modifiers, and the proposal says how it fits your project.
Is there a makeup room and guest support?
Yes. The complementary structure includes a beauty/makeup area for hair and makeup, a changing room for wardrobe changes and a pantry. And throughout the booking, someone from the house is on hand for anything about how the space works.
What are the hours for a shoot in PoltronaCast?
Production hours adjust to what the project needs: we agree them with you based on what the shoot requires, not on a front-desk clock. On WhatsApp, we reply from 7am to 7pm.
Is the room acoustically treated?
It is treated, and it holds up for recorded conversation: production companies shoot here without trouble. What it does not have is full sound isolation from the outside. If your project depends on that, it is worth booking a visit to hear the room before you commit.
